"Clare is a talented film-maker with so many positive qualities that it is difficult to list them all. She is able to use her vast experience and range of talents to deftly lead a team with a lightness of touch even when the going gets tough. She is a great collaborator, a grown up in the room and entirely trustworthy to deliver complicated projects."

ABOUT ME
I am a Showrunner, Director and Series Editor with BAFTA, Grierson and RTS awards, and a love for great stories and collaborative filmmaking. My recent work has focused on building teams capable of capturing sincerity and emotional truth in intimate stories, while working with and directing high-profile contributors and talent to deliver ambitious landmark series and feature documentaries.
Most recently, The King, His Trust and Me explores 50 years of The King’s Trust. The project has involved extensive access to The King and Idris Elba, with responsibility for leading the entire production from development through to delivery, alongside directing key sequences and contributors on screen.
Prior to this, I Directed Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix for Amazon, followed by directing the standalone documentary Jesy Nelson: Life Changing, which followed Jesy through the diagnosis of her twin girls with a rare and life-changing condition. Both projects required sensitive storytelling, close contributor relationships and the ability to balance access with editorial care.
As Showrunner and Director for Save Our Squad with David Beckham, I restructured the production process, solidified contributor relationships and saw Disney+’s first major push into factual through to delivery. This led to my role as Showrunner and Director for Fulwell73 on another major series in association with David Beckham’s Studio 99, and Series Editing Molly-Mae Hague’s first documentary series following her split from Tommy Fury.
I was also Series Editor and Series Director across three series of Long Lost Family for ITV, where I worked closely with commissioners to evolve the format and deliver new specials.
I try to use a calm, solutions-focused style to deliver results, with the drama captured on camera, not behind it

"Clare works tirelessly in pursuit of the best possible version of stories, always happy to take notes and work together on finding the right path, her work on Save our Squad helped steer the project towards success."
Sean Doyle, Director of Original Production for Unscripted Entertainment, Disney+
"I love working with Clare. She's calm, collected and makes emotional shoots run like clockwork."
Davina McCall
"Clare has a natural flair for capturing beautifully shot actuality - and is brilliant at building trust with contributors of all ages and backgrounds. Her work on Long Lost Family over many years helped the series to become and remain ITV’s biggest factual show. Clare has the breadth of skills to lead any production."

Save Our Squad with David Beckham, Disney+
This is a series I'm super proud of. Lots of kids and families, all on a mission to be better players and people - and a large team behind the camera too. I brought everyone together by focussing on effective ways of working that maximised David's time and created the intimacy and aesthetics that made this a premium Disney+ commission.

Series Director
Long Lost Family, Series x, ITV 1
Long Lost Family gave me a rare opportunity to craft my skills as a director of a prime time factual series, whilst also learning how to evolve a factual format to keep it fresh. Across 7 series I worked in PD, Director, Series Producer and Series Editor roles and loved working with wonderful teams to do justice to the stories of contributors who had spent their lives wondering what might have happened to their long lost families.
Director
Transformation Street, ITV 1
This multi-camera rig series, set in a Harley Street gender reassignment clinic, gave me the creative space to craft individual stories. By encouraging our contributors to talk about their experiences in ways even they had sometimes not considered, we revealed important ideas that fuelled the gender debate in positive ways.

Producer
Space Shuttle's Last Flight, Channel 4 & The Smithsonian
In this archive-heavy 90 minute feature doc, the main challenge was to turn a scientific story, that had already been recounted many times, into an emotional, fresh look at a moment in the history of space flight. By taking time to understand the astronauts' lives and motivations I was able to find new details in this well told tale that helped the film continue today on Amazon Prime.
